October is almost upon us, which means many things. To most people, it means the real beginning of fall, with crisp temperatures fueled with bonfires, hayrides, and pumpkin carving (well, pumpkin everything really). To auto enthusiasts such as myself, it means that the Paris Motor Show is almost here, and we’re gearing up to see some pretty incredible things from automakers across the globe.

So what can we expect from MINI at the Paris Motor Show 2014? Well, for starters, we will get to be part of the world premiere of the all-new MINI Hardtop 4-Door. Until now, MINI has offered its famous model in a two-door configuration only, which salutes the original British brand but isn’t all that practical for those of us who have kids with car seats, dogs with personalities, or friends with legs.

Adding two additional doors to the MINI Hardtop will give it a broader appeal and attract even more drivers to the brand. In addition to ease of entry for backseat passengers, the MINI Hardtop 4-Door also gains 30% more cargo space than its two-Door variant, with a total of 13.1 cubic feet.

MINI will also be showcasing the Superleggera Vision, which is a concept car resulting from a collaboration between MINI and Italian design and body manufacturing specialist Touring Superleggera. The unique model is a compact, two-seater roadster that takes the vintage elements present in all MINI models and combines it with the modern Italian flair Touring Superleggera is know for. The MINI Superleggera Vision is powered with an electric motor designed to unite efficiency and a fun-to-drive personality that’s obvious from your first glance.

The Paris Motor Show 2014 begins on October 2nd and runs until October 19th. Keep checking back into The News Wheel for more updates on MINI and other automakers in Paris.
