America’s Family Car: 2015 Hyundai Sonata Earns US News Award
US News & World Report thinks the 2015 Sonata is the bee's knees
Time and time again, the Hyundai Sonata proves it’s a solid choice for families.
US News & World Report reinforced this fact by bestowing its Best Midsize Car for Families Award on the 2015 Sonata. The accolade highlighted the model’s spacious interior and family-friendly features.
Refined, Reliable Sonata Impresses Families, Wins Award
US News Best Cars, the automotive channel of US News & World Report, surveys professional reviews, reliability and safety scores, and other test factors to determine a top model for each of the 19 “Best Family Car” categories. US News & World Report has been releasing respected rankings for new vehicles since 2007, and used vehicles since 2012.
Receiving this award is a milestone for Hyundai, as this is the first time in a multiple years the automaker made it into US News‘ annual ranking. Last year, the Mazda6 took the award for best affordable midsize sedan, which had dethroned the reigning champ–the Ford Fusion–of its multi-year winning streak. Now, the Hyundai Sonata has proven it’s better than both of its competitors.
“Families have very specific needs when shopping for a vehicle and they are a critically important target for midsize sedans,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of corporate and product planning for Hyundai Motor America. “Being named Best Midsize Car for Families by US News & World Report is a tremendous honor and demonstrates Sonata’s ability to outdo the expectations family buyers have in this segment.”
The Sonata has been having a strong year thus far, earning the title of KBB.com Best Family Car of 2015 and debuting a redesigned 2016 hybrid version at the Chicago Auto Show.
