FCA US Assembly Plant Earns World Class Award
FCA North America’s Brampton Assembly Plant was awarded a World Class Manufacturing bronze status
Fiat Chrysler’s North American assembly plants are world class—especially the one in Brampton. This plant was recently awarded bronze status for its efforts in implementing World Class Manufacturing (WCM), making it the 13th North American facility to receive this recognition.
The plant, which is located in Ontario, Canada, earned bronze after a two-day audit earlier this month. During this audit, the plant showcased its competence through a variety of presentations and a review of projects that have recently been implemented. These presentations and projects earned the plant a minimum of 50 points in 10 technical and 10 managerial pillars.
“They key to successfully implementing WCM is the engagement of the workforce,” said Brian Harlow, Vice President of Manufacturing for FCA North America. “By achieving bronze, the Brampton employees have demonstrated their commitment to making improvements in their operations, which translate to providing quality vehicles for our customers.”
World Class Manufacturing awards are given out based on a factory’s ability to eliminate waste, increase productivity, and improve quality and safety throughout the building. Factories that rank high in this award help promote a sense of ownership within the workforce.
