2014 Ford F-150It’s no secret that Americans love the Ford F-Series. It’s the best-selling vehicle in the United States and has been for over three decades. But last month was even more successful than usual. In fact, February 2014 Ford F-Series sales were the best they have been in 8 years, since before the economic recession.

In total, F-Series sales reached 55,882, despite a lackluster performance for the brand as a whole. And while Ford’s overall sales were down for the month, the Blue Oval’s luxury arm, Lincoln, which has been struggling to survive in today’s marketplace, pushed forward with surprisingly successful results.

In fact, Lincoln sales surged 36 percent over last February. The MKX and the MKZ were largely to thank for helping Lincoln achieve its fifth consecutive month of positive sales gains for the brand.

As the winter weather finally makes its way out of the States (and fingers crossed it’s for good until next winter, or never again even), Ford expects its sales to climb in March and make up for the slight hit they took in February. And as always, the Ford F-Series is anticipated to maintain its overall lead in the marketplace.
