Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Rises from Snowpocalypse with Sales Gains
As Winter Storm Jonas hit the eastern half of the United States, the automotive industry stalled a bit in sales. After all, not many people were shopping for a brand-new car in two feet of snow.
But there was one car brand that certainly came out on top in January sales—Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

The Italian-American carmaker posted a 6.9% gain in January, despite the winter weather beating one of Fiat Chrysler’s biggest markets in the United States. In total, 155,037 Fiat Chrysler vehicles were sold in the first month of the year, making it the brand’s 70th month in a row of year-over-year sales gains.
It wasn’t just the 70th month in a row of gains—it was also the brand’s best January sales in nine years.

“Mother Nature was no match for our Jeep brand last month as we recorded our best January Jeep sales ever,” said Reid Bigland, Head of US Sales. “Overall, FCA US achieved its best January sales in nine years and our 70th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases.”
Dodge’s January sales saw a 19% increase year-over-year, while Jeep saw a 15% increase. Ram rose 5%, but Chrysler and Fiat both saw a slight decline.
