The 8.4-inch Uconnect system will now have 4G LTE network capability
Fiat Chrysler already announced an updated version of its top-notch Uconnect system, and now it looks like this system is about to get even better. The Italian-American carmaker will increase the network connectivity in its infotainment systems with the debut of 4G LTE network capability.
The 4G LTE network means that US customers will have more reliable network coverage in their infotainment systems, along with better in-vehicle application responsiveness. The infotainment systems will also work faster than before.

“The advancement from 3G Network to 4G LTE network capability gives our customers a great opportunity to expand upon and explore the efficiency and convenience that our built-in connected services have to offer,” said Tricia Hecker, Global Head of Connected Services. “As our Uconnect systems continue to develop new services and features, this increase of network connectivity allows our systems to evolve and progress as technology changes.”

The 4G LTE network capability will be offered with the 2017 Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, and Chrysler 300 when the models are equipped with the fourth-generation Uconnect 8.4 or 8.4 NAV systems. These particular infotainment systems already offer some great technology, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Along with better technology, the system’s 8.4-inch touchscreen is also superior to the last generation, allowing for multi-touch gestures and better graphics.
This new, stronger connectivity helps build on the already award-winning offerings of the Fiat Chrysler Uconnect infotainment systems. With 4G LTE services, these systems will only continue to be better than ever.
