Healthy employees are happy employees, which is why promoting a healthy workplace is important to Fiat Chrysler. Because of the carmaker’s emphasis on its employee’s health, it should come as no surprise that it was recognized by the National Business Group on Health (NBGH) for its health-focused programs, which help its employees lead better, healthier lives.

This award is given to employers that have embraced a culture of wellness and work towards improving their employees’ health, productivity and quality of life. Fiat Chrysler is one of 55 US employers who received the award. This is the eighth consecutive year the brand has won this award, and the sixth year in a row that it has been the only carmaker to do so.

“Sustaining a healthy workplace and promoting the health and well-being of our employees and their families plays a key role in the success of our business,” said Kathleen Neal, Director of Integrated Health Care & Disability for FCA US.

The importance of a healthy work place can be seen in Fiat Chrysler’s UAW wellness program. This program, which was created more than three decades ago, focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles and a healthier workplace, while also reducing the risk of illness and chronic disease. The program has a variety of services, including health assessments, biometric screenings, workshops, and health coaching.

Along with the UAW wellness program, Fiat Chrysler also has a variety of health-related facilities and programs at its Auburn Hills, Michigan headquarters. This includes a fitness center, walking trails, bike racks, an onsite medical facility, a CVS pharmacy, guest chefs, collaboration with the MyFitness Pal app, and a farmer’s market. There are also healthy food alternatives in the cafeteria, onsite health coaches, a diabetes prevention program, and blood pressure readers.

With this type of health-centered focus, it’s no wonder that the Italian-American carmaker has won this award eight years in a row.
