Fiat FreakOut 2016 To Take Place in Motown
It has been an exciting year for the Fiat brand, as 2015 saw the return of the 124 Spider at the LA Auto Show, and some interesting concept cars inspired by Fiat’s partnership with Star Wars, but the most exciting news for Fiat might be that Fiat Club America is taking its once-a-year Fiat FreakOut event back to Motown.
The Fiat FreakOut event hasn’t taken place in Detroit since 2007, though the event’s history dates all the way back to 1983, when a small assembly of Fiat enthusiasts came together at Pocono International Speedway to show off and talk about their automobiles. In the following years, the event took place in Chicago, Nashville, and Niagara Falls.
The 2016 event will held July 27-31 and will be hosted by the Detroit Chapter of Fiat Club America. Activities scheduled for the event include a visit to the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, a racing day, and an autocross.
Each year, the Fiat FreakOut event brings in more than 500 people and it is billed as “the largest family gathering of Fiat owners in North America.”
Many of the activities at this year’s FreakOut have been planned to take place in the area around the FCA US headquarters in Auburn Hills.
