Ford Motor Company maintained its UK market leadership in terms of total vehicle, car, and CV sales in November as the Fiesta and Transit Custom continued to dominate their respective segments. Ford’s total car sales were up 1.6% at 21,944 units last month, bringing its year-to-date sales total to 297,575 units and putting the brand approximately 63,000 sales ahead of the nearest rival brand.

“The UK market’s robust growth was evident across all sectors in November, and it is particularly rewarding to see Ford strengthening its leadership position,” said Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director. “The Fiesta is in its eighth year as the UK’s best-selling car and this month has seen another very strong sales performance, particularly in the retail sector. We also continue to add to our product range and our latest newcomers, including the new KA+, new Kuga, and Edge models, [which] will boost our sales momentum even further.”

Fiesta sales totaled 8,382 sales in November, bringing its total registrations after 11 months to 112,327 units and all but guaranteeing its place as the UK’s best-selling vehicle once again. With just one month left to go in 2016, the Fiesta is approximately 39,155 sales and two percentage points of market share ahead of its nearest rival.

The Fiesta led Ford in terms of retail car sales with sales totaling 4,000 units more than its closest competitor. Ford’s November retail share rose to 12.7%, putting the brand a full 5.1 percentage points clear of the second-place brand in the UK.

Commercial vehicle sales fell slightly at 8,951 units, but sales were enough to help Ford surpass 110,000 CV sales on the way to yet another record year. The Fiesta Van, Transit Courier, Transit Custom, Transit, and Ranger all rank at the top of their respective segments.
