Fireball Edition 2016 Camaro SS Completes Quarter-Mile in 9.91 Seconds [VIDEO]
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro received a lot of praise before it was ever released, as Motor Trend named the sixth-generation Camaro as its Car of the Year award winner, but a YouTube video has recently surfaced that shows the exact reason why this muscle car deserved so much attention.
A modified 2016 Camaro SS was caught on video covering a quarter-mile in just 9.91 seconds with a top-speed of 138 mph. The vehicle was reportedly customized with four drag radials, ECU chip tuning, and a shot of nitrous. Those modifications were performed by Oklahoma City’s B&R Performance, which also named its Chevy the “Fireball Edition 2016 Camaro SS.”

Before any changes were made, the same 2016 Camaro SS posted a time of 10.95 seconds and a top-speed of 128 mph. The new Camaro SS comes straight from the factory with a 6.2-liter V8 direct injection engine good for 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, the 2016 Camaro sits on the same Alpha platform also used in the Cadillac ATS.
B&R Performance also claims it previously ran a time of 9.83 seconds at the same drag strip, but the run showed in the video below is a 9.91 quarter-mile sprint. The video was posted by YouTube user LSTuner.com.
Unfortunately, the Fireball Edition 2016 Camaro SS broke its passenger axle after posting those less than 10 seconds runs.
