Ford has enlisted more than 500 Blue Oval employees to participate in Ford Accelerated Action Day, where they will volunteer at 32 non-profit locations across southeast Michigan. Ford Accelerated Action Day is designed to benefit families and children, asking the Ford Volunteer Corps to get involved in projects community-wide.

According to a recent Ford news release, MODEL Teams of Ford volunteers are painting shelters, renovating family centers, and building homes. Ford has donated $57,000 in grants to purchase supplies and tools for the volunteer projects. These funds will be shared among participating organizations.

“We’re utilizing our people and our resources to lay the foundation for a brighter future in our communities,” said Jim Vella, president, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. “Children and families are the back bone of strong communities. By helping them succeed, we’re helping our communities grow and prosper.”

While Ford employees are active in their communities around the world year-round, Ford Accelerated Action Day is an opportunity for employees to work together to complete high-priority projects in an effort to help at-risk members of the community.
