Ford Adds Radio Disney to SYNC AppLink Lineup
Ford’s Blue Oval may as well put on a pair of Mickey Mouse ears.
That would be a suitable way to celebrate the announcement that Ford SYNC®AppLink™ will be the first in-vehicle infotainment system to integrate the Radio Disney app, available for iOS and Android. The partnership will give Ford vehicles exclusive access to the 24-hour radio network dedicated entirely to family-friendly tunes for teens, tweens, kids, and families.
“While there are many music-streaming apps currently compatible with AppLink, Radio Disney is the first family-oriented music app,” said Julius Marchwicki, Ford Connected Services Product manager. “Drivers will be able to keep the entire family entertained while keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the steering wheel.”
Drivers will be able to connect Radio Disney to their Ford vehicles by connecting to Ford SYNC through Bluetooth. The driver will be able to select music, life performances, and interviews with today’s hottest artists.
“We want to provide kids and families easy access to Radio Disney, and working with Ford presents a great opportunity to connect them while on the go,” said Eric Goldstein, vice president, Distribution and Consumer Engagement, Radio Disney. “With added integration of Ford SYNC AppLink technology in the Radio Disney app, kids can share their favorite music and programming in-car for a safe and interactive entertainment experience.”
Ford continues to add new features to SYNC and AppLink, both of which are being upgraded in 2015. SYNC 3 and AppLink 3.0 will not only be the first to integrate Radio Disney, but it will also incorporate apps such as Life360 and AccuWeather.
