Ford and Thor Livin Lite Create Rec Products for 2015 F-150
Ford and Thor Livin Lite are teaming up to create a new line of Blue Oval-branded recreational products, including an aluminum camper that will pair perfectly with the all-new, aluminum-heavy 2015 Ford F-150.
Though the fruits of their labor are only just now coming to light, Ford and Thor Livin Lite have been working to make the camper a reality since early last year before the world knew that the next F-150 would innovate with an aluminum body.
“I can’t tell you how excited we are to work with a company as prestigious as Ford and bring their iconic brand name back into the RV industry,” said Scott Tuttle, president of Thor Livin Lite. “Ford believes enough in our unique aluminum construction to allow us to carry the ‘Built Ford Tough’ label, which says a lot.”
According to Livin Lite President Scott Tuttle, Ford and Thor Livin Lite struck up a partnership early last year, wherein the automaker revealed that it was intending to incorporate aluminum in the body of the next-gen F-150. Livin Lite set to work on an aluminum camper to accompany the new F-150 in June 2013, and it will make its world debut on Tuesday, December 2nd at the 52nd Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky.
In an interview with Truck Camper Magazine, Tuttle states that the first campers will be built to replicate both the interior and exterior of the 2015 F-150 and will be sold through Livin Lite dealerships and some Ford dealers (likely those that offer Livin Lite products) when they arrive in February/March 2015.
