Ford Announced New VP of Strategy, Controller

Ford has announced pair of leadership changes in its Strategy and Finance teams.

Stuart Rowley was announced on Monday as the new vice president of Strategy; he had previously served as vice president and Controller of Ford Motor Company since April 1st, 2012, and he was also previously the CFO of Ford of Europe.

Rowley is being replaced in the role of vice president and Controller, Ford Motor Company, by John Lawler. Lawler has been the vice president and chairman and chief executive officer of Ford China since December 2012, and he will continue to serve in that role while simultaneously fulfilling the obligations of vice president and Controller.

Rowley, who has been with the company since 1990 and whose previous experience includes the role of CFO and senior VP for Volvo, will report to John Casesa, group vice president, Global Strategy, Ford Motor Company. His role will consist of developing new business models in both core and emerging business opportunities, including those relating to Ford’s aspirations to become known as a mobility company.

Lawler, who has been with the company since 1990 and previously served as the CFO for Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, will report to Ford Motor Company Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Bob Shanks.

“Stuart and John have played key roles in delivering Ford’s long-term global growth strategy and strong financial performance,” said Mark Fields, Ford president and CEO. “These moves are part of our commitment to continue developing our leadership team and strengthening their expertise throughout the business.”

Both appointments went into effect on June 1st.
