Ford Announces Ford Smart Mobility Innovation Office in London
Ford announced this week that it will continue its emphasis on mobility solutions in Europe by opening a Ford Smart Mobility Innovation Office in London.
At the Ford Smart Mobility Innovation Office, located at the Here East Campus in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, upwards of 40 Ford Mobility specialists will have increased access to partners from Loughborough University and the Advanced Propulsion Centre, as well as the Plexal Innovation Centre and UCL Robotics.

“Basing our rapidly growing team here in the heart of mobility innovation in London is critical to accelerating our learning and development of new technologies,” said Steven Armstrong, group vice president and president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company. “The location at Here East will allow us greater collaboration and the out-of-the-box thinking needed to tackle the urban transport challenges of tomorrow.”
“We will also be ideally placed to build on existing partner projects and have access to London’s world-class digital talent. Both will be key as we build towards our ambition of being a global leader in mobility solutions,” Armstrong added.

Ford Smart Mobility already has dedicated centers in Dearborn and Palo Alto. Ford also notes that the new Ford Smart Mobility Innovation Office will work in conjunction with other European research and innovation centers including Germany’s RIC Aachen.
