Ford Announces New Role for Raj Nair, Other Executive Appointments

Raj Nair was named Ford’s executive vice president, Product Development and Chief Technical Officer

Ford recently announced a number of senior leadership changes, including a new title for group vice president, Global Product Development Raj Nair.

Nair was named the company’s executive vice president, Product Development as well as Chief Technical Officer on December 1st. He has been the group vice president of Product Development and CTO since April 2012, and in the time since, he has been integral in the creation of new products up to and including the Ford GT and Focus RS.

“Raj has done an outstanding job leading our team in delivering product excellence with passion,” said Mark Fields, Ford president and CEO. “As we expand our global lineup even further, Raj’s leadership will enable us to develop innovative new products and technologies that deliver our core business while also focusing on emerging opportunities, including those in our Ford Smart Mobility plan.”

It was also announced that John Fleming, executive vice president of Manufacturing and Labor Affairs, is retiring after more than 48 years with the company. He is succeeded by Bruce Hettle, 54, who is currently the vice president of North America Manufacturing. Hettle is being succeeded in that role by Gary Johnson, 51, who was previously the vice president of Asia Pacific Manufacturing. A replacement for that position has not yet been named.
