Ford has announced that a new partnership with the Women’s Elite National circuit champion, Nikki Juniper, will result in a new cycling team known as Team Ford EcoBoost.

Juniper will lead a team of ten cyclists that will include both senior and developing rides through a number of races taking place throughout the United Kingdom and Europe this year. The team’s first race in the National Series will take place this Saturday at the Isle of Man GP.

“The creation of Ford Team EcoBoost is a great opportunity to continue to grow our involvement in cycling, complementing our Team Sky partnership, and helping to raise the profile of women in the sport,” said Lisa Brankin, marketing director, Ford of Britain. “This relationship enables us to showcase Ford’s vehicles at their very best, how they can meet the demands of those with active lifestyles and also the needs of a professional cycling team.”

Earlier this year, Ford announced a multi-year partnership with Team Sky, the team that has won three of the past four Tour de France races. That deal included the use of multiple Ford vehicles for various needs. Similarly, Team Ford EcoBoost will utilize three Ford EcoSports, a Mondeo Vignale estate, and Transit Custom double-cab-in-van, all of which will feature blue, white, and orange livery.

Including Juniper, the team will consist of professionals Charlotte Broughton, Henrietta Colborne, Julie Erskine, Lizzie Holden, Charline Joiner, and Anna Turvey, as well as developmental riders Adele Martin and Clover Murray.

“Ford is the perfect partner for us and we are delighted to be working together, to be able to build the team, and to have the support of a brand like Ford. I’m really looking forward to the 2016 Road Series, we have a couple of young development riders in the team and it’s great to help the girls moving forward in their cycling careers,” said Juniper. “The Team Ford EcoBoost fleet will play a crucial role for us this season, carrying equipment, spares, the team and of course our bikes.”
