Ford Announces Winners of 2018 Ford Freedom Unsung Heroes of Harvey Awards
Ford last month revealed the winners of its Ford Freedom Unsung Heroes of Harvey Awards, which highlighted the efforts of more than two dozen individuals and groups in the wake of last year’s hurricane. The winners of the 2018 Ford Freedom Unsung Heroes of Harvey Award were nominated by residents of the Greater Houston Area and ultimately honored at an event that took place at Houston’s Bell Tower.
“In the face of tremendous difficulty, Houstonians came together to support each other and their community,” said Pamela Alexander, director of Community Development, Ford Motor Company Fund. “We congratulate the winners and are proud to honor their selfless acts.”

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey last autumn, Ford committed a total of $3.5 million to recovery efforts through contributions to charitable organizations and dealership fundraising initiatives, and it launched a “Texas is Family” customer assistance bundle aimed at helping Ford customers get back on their feet and on the road. Ford also provided Houstonian Pastor Develron Walker with a brand-new 2018 Ford Expedition for the purposes of helping to give back to his community.
