Ford, Burton Morris Unite for Mustang Unites
Ford is teaming up with Burton Morris Studios for Mustang Unites, an art collection that will feature ten unique hand-sculpted Mustang pony emblems painted in the colors of ten countries: the US, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UAE, and the UK.
The emblems of Mustang Unites are, in part, a way to celebrate the 2015 Ford Mustang, which will be the first Mustang in the car’s 50-year history to be both exported directly to various global markets and sold in a right-hand drive format.
“No matter where you are in the world, the Mustang pony is one of the most recognizable emblems,” says Elizabeth McKelvey, licensing marketing manager, Ford Global Brand Licensing. “As we celebrate 50 years of Mustang as an iconic sports car, we are marking the milestone with a creative art collaboration representing its debut in international markets.”
Burton Morris is known the world over for Warhol-inspired pop art that takes iconic imagery and portrays them in vivid colors and bold black lines. Morris’ work is perhaps best known by fans of the sitcom Friends, which featured a number of his paintings in the show’s Central Park café set. Burton’s other famous works include representations of Heinz Ketchup and Absolut Vodka, and he was once commissioned to paint The Jetsons for Kanye West (and, yes, Kanye let him finish).

“As Ford Mustang celebrates 50 years, it has become a symbol of pop culture with the pony being one of the most recognizable icons worldwide,” says Morris. “I am thrilled to have my paintings be a part of Mustang Unites and celebrate Mustang around the world.”
The collection is available to view at www.MustangUnites.com, where fans can also purchase limited-edition paper and aluminum prints and posters.
