According to Ford, the Green Escape Challenge operates in a fashion not terribly unlike typical escape rooms. Small teams are locked in the room and tasked with solving riddles about green technology in order to escape the room. The intention of the challenge is to provide a unique method through which students and interested parties can learn about Ford’s new eco-friendly technologies, including its EcoBlue diesel engine and lightweighting endeavors, and its efforts to stand apart as one of the most environmentally-conscientious automotive companies in the world.

There were also multiple presentations at the event, including speeches from Andy Pan, Polymers Material Supervisor, Ford China, and Shawn Ma, Engine Engineering, Ford Asia Pacific. Ford China’s Sustainability Communications Supervisor, Tina Zhang, delivered a presentation on Ford’s Green CSR Project, Ford Conservation and Environmental Grants, China (CEGC). CEGC aims to build bridges between Ford and other organizations that aspire to improve the world.

Students from the universities also participated in a Q&A session with Ford employees where they learned both about their personal experiences on the job and about Ford’s endeavors to improve sustainability and promote environmental awareness.
