Ford has escalated the availability of its EcoBoost powertrains to such a degree that they now grace nearly every model the automaker manufactures. Accordingly, the sale of EcoBoost-powered Fords are up 46% year-over-year through October, which is probably more inevitability than happenstance.

Through 10 months, 210,239 of all F-150s sold in the United States were equipped with EcoBoost engines, making it the company’s biggest EcoBoost seller. (The F-150 is also Ford’s biggest seller in general, so this again is just kind of the causation between general volume and EcoBoost volume.) The second best-seller is the Escape at 203,855 units, followed by the Fusion at 105,999 units.

Respectively, that’s about 64% of all F-150 sales, 78% of all Escape sales, and 43% of all Fusion sales being models with EcoBoost engines. That’s less causation and more an indication of consumer preference, which bodes well for Ford’s plan to make EcoBoost the go-to powerplant option for its vehicles. Ford says that it will likely break the 1-million EcoBoost model threshold for the first time in 2015.

“Ford EcoBoost delivers great performance along with the capability of impressive fuel efficiency,” said Erich Merkle, Ford sales analyst. “Ford leadership in clean gasoline turbocharged engine technology is paying dividends as evidenced by EcoBoost sales growth.”

Ford will add to its lineup with a 3.0-liter V6 that will debut as a Lincoln-exclusive in 2016—possibly in the upcoming Continental. The current lineup consists of a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine; 1.5-liter, 1.6-liter, 2.0-liter, and 2.3-liter four-cylinder engines; and the 2.7-liter and 3.5-liter V6 engines.
