In a tweet Thursday morning, Ford quietly revealed that it will indeed be bringing the EcoSport to the United States.

With the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show on the horizon, Ford has pegged DJ Khaled as the man who will introduce its subcompact crossover to American consumers. According to Automotive News, Khaled posted a video to his Snapchat on Wednesday where he confirmed his role in presenting the EcoSport at a special event next week.

“Monday I’m introducing the Ford EcoSport,” said Khaled in the video. “It’s going to be a world premiere with the new Ford EcoSport.”

A Ford spokesperson confirmed as much to Automotive News subsequently. The EcoSport has been sold in markets across Europe, South America, and Asia since 2003.

The addition of the EcoSport to Ford’s lineup in North America is consistent with plans announced at the beginning of the year to add four new utility vehicles to its lineup by 2020. Ford would later clarify that the four new SUVs would not be updated versions of existing SUVs and crossovers, but rather new models that fill gaps in its utility vehicle lineup.

A Ford UAW official last month confirmed that the Ford Bronco will be another of Ford’s four new SUVs, revealing that plans have called for it to be built at Michigan Assembly Plant by the beginning of 2018.

Ford did not divulge any particulars about the EcoSport in confirming its arrival, though much will likely be revealed on Monday with more to come at the LA Auto Show.
