This week, Ford donated five new Transit vans to the American Red Cross for use at five different locations across the United States: Lexington, Kentucky; Louisville, Kentucky; Cleveland, Ohio; Portland, Oregon; and its hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

“The American Red Cross is often first on the scene to assist those in need, and these Ford Transit vehicles play an important role in helping them deliver food, water and medical supplies as quickly as possible,” said Jim Vella, president, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. “People count on the Red Cross when disaster strikes, and the Red Cross knows it can count on Ford.”

Ford has been working with the Red Cross for more than 30 years. In the past five years along, Ford Motor Company and the Ford Motor Company Fund have contributed a combined $3 million in support to the Red Cross as a part of its membership in the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program.

The five donated Transit vans are all high-roof models powered by the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
