Ford Driving Dreams

Ford Motor Company Fund and North Texas Ford Dealers announced last week that it will be donating more than $400,000 toward scholarships as part of the Ford Driving Dreams program. This investment will create as many as 200 scholarships for high school seniors throughout North Texas who submit a “What Drives Your Dream?” essay and plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university after graduating in 2016.

The scholarship aims to support in particular students who intend to pursue degrees in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines. The deadline for applications and essays is February 29th, and the recipients will also be honored at an upcoming Ford Driving Dreams award ceremony in May.

Ford Driving Dreams has invested nearly $2 million in education and initiatives, and Ford’s cumulative investment in the state of Texas since 2000 stands at a total greater than $22 million. Ford’s partners in Texas include Dallas independent School District, Fort Worth Independent School District, Stars on the Rise, Parents Step Ahead, SER Jobs for Progress, University of Crossroads, and the North Texas Food Bank.
