Ford Driving Skills for Life Camps to Visit Six States from July to August
Starting in July and running through August, Ford will be holding hands-on driver-training camps in Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. More than 1,500 teenage drivers are expected to attend the first-ever Ford Driving Skills for Life camps across the six states.
The first camp opens July 7th in Fargo, North Dakota, where it will run through the 8th. From there, the festivities will relocate to: Omaha, Nebraska (July 11th-12th); Des Moines, Iowa (July 15th-16th); Madison, Wisconsin (July 18th-19th); Sioux Falls, South Dakota (July 25th-26th); and Cheyenne, Wyoming (August 6th-7th).
“Summer is an especially risky time for teen drivers,” said Jonathan Adkins, executive director of the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA). “More teen driving-related deaths tend to occur in June, July and August than any other month. So it’s particularly timely that Ford Driving Skills for Life is taking its show on the road, hitting six states during the heart of this dangerous driving season.”
At the camps, teens will participate in four half-day lessons that will cover everything from space and speed management to hazard recognition and vehicle handling. Parents are also being encouraged to participate.
