Ford nearly broke the six-figure sales threshold in its traditional European 20 markets last month, delivering 99,990 vehicles throughout July—a year-over-year decline of 4.8%. Passenger vehicle sales dropped 9.2% at 73,300 vehicles delivered, but commercial vehicle sales were up 9.7% at 26,600 vehicles delivered. Total vehicle market share dropped 0.6 percentage points to 7.4%, passenger vehicle market share was down 0.8 percentage points at 6.4%, and commercial vehicle market share was up 0.5 percentage points at 13.3%.

“Despite the summer holiday period, July saw Ford commercial vehicle sales continue to grow by just under 10%—a similar rate of growth they’ve experienced year to date,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales, and Service, Ford of Europe. “With the new Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom people mover available to order later this year, we expect to maintain our strong CV momentum and market leadership into 2018.”
