Ford Motor Company of Canada picked up right where it left off in 2016 last month: delivering a record number of F-Series trucks to customers throughout the country.

Ford F-Series sales rose 5% year-over-year in January, good for the family of trucks’ best January sales on record. The Ford Transit van also experienced an all-time record for the month of January with sales increasing 39% year-over-year.

In total, Ford of Canada sold a total of 17,232 vehicles in January, up 3.5% from January 2016. Ford truck sales were up 6.1% at 15,371 units, offsetting a 13.9% year-over-year decrease in car sales.

“We look forward to continuing Ford’s positive momentum in the year ahead,” said Mark Buzzell, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “We’re laser-focused on the customer experience and product innovation as we continue to meet strong consumer demand—especially for our trucks and utilities.”

Ford’s SUV and crossover lineup saw an 8% year-over-year increase, led by the Explorer (up 57%), Expedition (up 79%), and Flex (up 48%). Also seeing significant gains in January was the C-MAX, which saw a sales increase of 93%.

Lincoln sales were also strong in January—the strongest the brand has seen in 27 years. Lincoln was led in sales by the MKZ, which was up 29% for the month.

“With the Canadian unveiling of the next-generation Lincoln Navigator concept planned for the Canadian International Auto Show later this month, we’re excited to build on our Lincoln brand reinvention. It offers a strong hint at what’s next for Lincoln and how we are reimagining luxury for our customers,” said Buzzell.
