Europe has formed a steamy love affair with the Ford Fiesta, and it’s clear enough to see just how much the small car is beloved based on its accolades. The Fiesta has been the best-selling small car in Europe for the past three years, logging 306,308 units in 2012; 293,398 units in 2013; and 308,999 units in 2014. Now, through June 2015, it appears on pace to maintain that title for another year longer with a running total of 173,999 units sold, up 3.6% from its pace last year.

“Europeans love small cars and they have extremely high standards—so we are proud Fiesta remains at the top of the rank,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford of Europe. “Customers now have the widest ever choice of Fiesta models including the enhanced Fiesta ECOnetic and fashionable new color options such as Silver Silk.”

Ford Fiesta sales in June totaled 33,646 units, up 22.3% year-over-year. Since being introduced in Europe in 1997, Ford has sold at least a quarter-million Fiestas each year. Fiesta sales hit an all-time high in 2009 with 459,006 units sold.
