Carla Bruni Kicks Off New Career As Football Coach in Unique Mar

Former First Lady of France Carla Bruni is a woman of many talents. She’s a singer, songwriter, author, and model, and now, in a new marketing campaign from Ford, she takes on the role of football coach.

Worth noting: the video is in French, which is the result of, you know, this being a French advertising campaign. Fortunately, YouTube offers closed captions that allow you to follow along as Mrs. Bruni lays the smack down on her team of footballers.

The campaign comes with a hashtag, #prendreunvirage, which translates to “take a turn.” There is also a website that ties into the theme, prendreunvirage.fr, which includes a quiz centered around taking a new turn in life—whether it’s uprooting to a new place and starting your own business or taking on the role of soccer coach. Because it’s an automotive ad campaign, prospective lifestyles are paired with Ford vehicles such as the Mustang, C-MAX, and Mondeo Vignale.

Carla Bruni immediately understood what we were trying to achieve and partnering with her will ensure that millions of people notice this campaign.”

The Bruni-starring ad is directed by Dominique Farrugia.
