Ford Fusion Hybrid, Fusion Energi Sales on the Rise in Los Angeles
Hey, cool cat! You wanna be hip to the latest trends out of the City of Angels? Well, if being hip entails purchasing a new automobile, then you may now want to lend more consideration to the fuel-efficient variants of the 2017 Ford Fusion.
Ford analyzed June sales figures and found that retail sales of the new Fusion Energi climbed 40% in Los Angeles, while retail sales of the Fusion Hybrid increased 35%. In contrast, retail sales of midsize sedans in LA on the whole were down 5% for the month, per IHS Automotive.

“This significant growth for Ford’s midsize sedan should not be underestimated as Los Angeles is the largest car market in the United States,” said Wade Jackson, Ford Fusion marketing manager. “The spike in Fusion Hybrid and Energi sales is a testament to Ford’s advanced engineering team developing fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive electric vehicles offering customers the widest range of choice in the segment.”
According to Ford, Fusion Hybrid and Energi retail sales represented 42% of all Fusion retail sales in Los Angeles through May. Retail sales for the entire Fusion lineup through June are up 12%, and retail sales among women were up 20% through May.
This has led Ford to create a pointed marketed campaign aimed at buyers in major markets, Los Angeles in particular.
“We need to make sure buyers know about the best-in-class Fusion Energi driving range, but our new Fusion Sport and Fusion Platinum models give us a great shot at going after buyers who might not have ever owned a Ford,” Jackson said. “We’re pretty excited about our chances for more conquest buyers.”
