Ford Gets the Mustang 50th Birthday Celebrations Started
Ford Motor Company and Mustang Club of America are working around the clock putting final preparations in place for the Mustang 50th birthday celebrations, which begin April 16th. The next few days are expected to be the largest multi-day Mustang celebrations ever, and will be held at locations across the country.
Concord, N.C. and Las Vegas will be host to simultaneous celebrations hosted by Ford Motor Company and Mustang Club of America, where Mustang enthusiasts and celebrities will come together to celebrate their favorite car. The celebrations will feature more than 5,000 Mustangs and more than 100,000 Mustang fans.
The gatherings will feature every Mustang from the very beginning to the all-new 2015 model, including special editions. Additional activities include open track events, drag races, evening Mustang cruises, ride-and-drive programs, and Mustang history sessions. Without a doubt, there will be something for every Mustang enthusiast.
According to a Ford news release, the two-city celebration will also feature some of the most influential people in the Mustang’s history, to include Gale Halderman, who is credited with the original shape of the Mustang. Ford Motor Company’s Executive Chairman Bill Ford and COO Mark Fields will lead the celebrations in Charlotte, and Fields will also participate at the Las Vegas event.
For Mustang fans around the world, the 50 year birthday and the events associated with it have been long-awaited. Folks, it’s time to get your party pants on – the Mustang 50th birthday celebrations are getting started!
