Ford Go Faster

A quick hit list of some of the things almost definitely on your “what I want to be when I grow up” list from when you were a kid: astronaut, dinosaur, stunt car driver. You’re an adult now, so you know that the first two are a bit implausible. (Being an astronaut means having to battle alien lifeforms, and you were as of last check incapable of generating scales or claws [and you certainly have tried].)

But there is still hope if you aspire to be a stunt driver! All you need to do is make your way to London between October 13th-22nd and take part in the Ford Go Faster immersive experience. Granted, those are some big caveats, particularly if you are an American teenager with plans to renovate Camp Crystal Lake over those days, but it is nonetheless possible.

Participants who pay £99 will receive a call-sheet, storyboard, and script before the fact. Here’s the story you can expect to be a part of, per the Ford Go Faster Eventbrite page:

The boss of your crew, Carston, was framed by his best friend and spent five years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Now it’s payback time. A heist is on the cards and getting everyone out alive is all down to you.

Needless to say, it’s no easy task, which is why on set you’ll be taught some classic Hollywood stunts, taught by professional stunt drivers.

Afterwards, it’s lights, camera, action as you put your new skills to the test.

Tires will screech, rubber will burn—it’s all down to you to get your co-stars out of trouble in the ultimate test of skill and performance.

Once you’ve lost your tail, you’ll receive your very own big budget movie trailer starring you.

If #GoFaster won’t break your newsfeed, nothing will.

Sounds pretty intense.

But the big draw of the four-hour experience is the opportunity to perfect skills like drifting and handbrake parking with the help of pro stunt drivers. And you won’t be learning these skills in just any hoopty; you’ll be driving a Ford Focus RS. That tail mentioned above? A Ford Mustang.

Your driving and acting scenes will be cut together to form your leading role as “Wheels” in “Go Faster,” and you will have the trailer to prove your prowess and screen presence.

“This is a unique opportunity to not only perform stunts in one of the mostly highly-rated hot hatches, but to also see yourself and your stunt driving skills appear in a full-length movie trailer,” said Andrew Merryweather, Ford’s Brand Experience Manager. “It’s like cinema meets stunt driving lessons, all covered in sleek Hollywood-style production, and it gives participants an unforgettable day out as well as the ultimate brag-worthy content to share with friends.”

Heck, if you want to really go three for three, consider trying to get away with dressing up in one of those T-Rex suits while also wearing a space helmet. Maybe you can get away with saying that astronaut dinosaur was just your read on the character.
