If we were to tell you that the International Automotive Media Registry (IAMR) put together the heads of some of its most esteemed members to determine which concept vehicle best represents an exciting preview of an even-more exciting future production vehicle and ultimately determined that the best of all concepts was the Ford GT supercar that first appeared at the North American International Auto Show in January, would you really be all that surprised?

Probably not, regardless of your taste as it relates to extremely long sentences.

The Ford GT concept that premiered in Detroit was named both the 2015 Production Preview Concept of the Year and the Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2015. More than two dozen jurors selected the GT from a total of about 30 concept vehicles introduced over the last 7 months, establishing its position as arguably the most anticipated new vehicle of the past five years.

“The Ford GT is already one of the all-time great designs, with styling that is simultaneously breathtaking and aerodynamically functional,” said juror Dan Carney. “A car for the ages.”

This year’s award marks the second time that Ford has taken the Most Significant Concept Vehicle award, the first being a win for the Ford Reflex Concept in 2006.
