Ford Investing $1.3 Billion in Kentucky Truck Plant for Super Duty Production
Ford will invest $1.3 billion into its Kentucky Truck Plant, creating 2,000 new jobs to support the kickoff of production for the all-new 2017 F-Series Super Duty. The investment will cover the creation of an all-new body shop as well as various facility upgrades and retooling.

The Kentucky Truck Plant has been the beneficiary of a number of investments in recent years. Just last year, Ford Motor Company pumped $80 million into the facility to increase production of the current-gen Super Duty. Including the $129 million investment to support production of the new Lincoln MKC at Louisville Assembly, Ford has put forth more than $1.5 billion to support manufacturing in Kentucky.
“With the introduction of the all-new Ford Super Duty, America’s best-selling heavy-duty pickup, we expect to continue growing our truck leadership,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of The Americas. “Through this investment, we are continuing to show our commitment to Kentucky and the city of Louisville, as well as bringing to customers industry-leading trucks to help them take care of business and earn a living.”
The new 2017 F-Series will be built on a new high-strength steel frame and feature high-strength aluminum-alloy body panels. It will also feature sixteen class-exclusive features, as well as adaptive steering technology and up to seven cameras for added safety. The new F-Series Super Duty will be available next year.
