Ford U.S. July Sales Climb 9.4 Percent as Fusion, F-Series Fly
Ford enjoyed its best July sales mark in eight years thanks to stellar performances from the Fusion, Explorer, and Escape. Ford U.S. July sales jumped 9.4 percent with 204,373 units, nearly a full third of which belonged to the ever-dominant F-Series.
The Fusion had its best July ever with sales of 23,942 units, good for a 16.7 percent year-over-year increase.
Escape also set a personal best for July, moving 26,558 vehicles and increasing 18.9 percent over July 2013.
The Explorer jumped 31.8 percent with sales of 16,797 vehicles, its best sales mark for July in nine years.
As can be reasonably expected, the F-Series led the charge by posting sales of 63,240 trucks. The F-Series was up 4.6 percent, is up 0.3 percent on the year with 429,065 units sold, is handily crushing all of its competitors—and the 2015 F-150 is still months away from hitting the market.
Ford vehicles were up almost across the board, with impressive gains made by the Focus (5.7 percent), C-MAX (10.9 percent), Mustang (13.8 percent), Transit Connect (41.8 percent), and Expedition (59.3 percent).
With a number of new Ford vehicles scheduled for release in the coming months—including the 2015 Mustang, Focus, Focus ST, and F-150—it’s reasonable to put money on Ford’s roll continuing well into the fall.
