2016 Ford F-150

The popularity of the new F-150 is a key component to Ford’s spot on the Fortune Blue Ribbon Companies list

Fortune this week released its list of its 25 Blue Ribbon Companies 2015, and the Ford Motor Company stood tall as the sole representative of the automotive industry.

Ford ranked 16th on the list, which was topped by Alphabet, Nike, Facebook, Cisco Systems, and Apple. Ford was honored for having ranked well on four previously-released Fortune lists: Ford ranked 42nd on the Change the World list for its commitment to reducing emissions and promoting sustainable energy solutions.

Ford was ranked number 27 on the Global 500 list, having been cited for strengths including the popularity of its model lineup (including the all-new Ford F-150) and its ability to capitalize on consumer demands effectively. On the vaunted Fortune 500, Ford ranked 9th for those same reasons.

Finally, among automotive brands, Ford ranked 6th on the Most Admired 2015 list, scoring high marks for global competitiveness and social responsibility and improving its ranking by two spots year-over-year.

The 2015 Blue Ribbon Companies list is the largest it has been in any year at 25 entries, and yet, Ford is far and away the most recognized in its industry.
