Ford is accepting orders for its luxurious Mondeo Vignale

Ford is taking a decidedly upscale approach with the Ford Mondeo Vignale, the first in a line of products that will bear the Vignale moniker and act as Ford’s European luxury extension. The Mondeo Vignale is hand-finished and must undergo 100 quality checks before getting the go-ahead from manufacturers.

“Ford Vignale is the highest expression of the Ford brand in Europe, combining premium design and craftsmanship with a unique, time-saving ownership experience,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe. “Our vision for Vignale is to create a modern, contemporary upscale experience that is a valued part of customers’ lives.”

The Ford Mondeo Vignale will be Ford’s first European model to offer Active Noise Cancellation, meaning it will provide one of the absolute quietest rides on the road. Available as a four-door sedan or a wagon, the Mondeo Vignale will be powered by a 2.0-liter bi-turbo engine (EcoBoost petrol or TDCi diesel) or a hybrid powertrain and will be offered with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

The Mondeo Vignale, named for Italian coachbuilder Alfredo Vignale, will be available for pre-order by the end of the month. Ford says that it will introduce the next model in its fancy-shmancy lineup—the S-MAX Vignale—later this year.
