Ford Named ‘Most Innovative Volume Brand 2015’ at AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Awards
For semi-autonomous driver and safety technologies including but not limited to Active Park Assist and Active City Stop, Ford Motor Company was named “Most Innovative Volume Brand 2015” at the 10th annual AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Awards in Frankfurt.
Ford was named the winner after Germany’s Center of Automotive Management determined that Ford’s technological advances were the most superior out of 1,220 innovations from 18 automotive groups and 53 brands around the globe. Ford’s groundbreaking technologies are part of the company’s ever-expanding Smart Mobility Plan.

Additionally, the Ford Focus was named the best vehicle in its class, and the Mondeo placed in the top three for its segment.
“Innovation has always been the lifeblood of Ford and it’s more vital with the automotive industry entering a period of rapid technological advancement,” said Joe Bakaj, vice president, Product Development, Ford of Europe. “The technologies we are introducing today are enabling a safer, more efficient and more connected journey.”
Ford also received plaudits for the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine that powers models like the Focus and is the three-time-and-reigning International Engine of the Year. Other technologies to receive acclaim from the Center of Automotive Management include Ford’s Inflatable Rear Seatbelt and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection.
