October 21st, as you probably well know, is Back to the Future Day in that it will mark the very day to which Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled in Back to the Future II. Between the Cubs actually looking like they could win a World Series and a leather handbag who looks suspiciously like Biff Tannen running for President, there’s plenty of reason for people to get in on that sweet, sweet nostalgia.

Ford is not the least of these, filling in valiantly for the DeLorean Motor Company and facetiously offering customers who configurate a 2015 Ford Focus or Fiesta between the 21st and 26th an optional Flux Capacitor.

Per the video description on YouTube:

Add an element of excitement to any trip by upgrading your Ford with the available class-exclusive Flux Capacitor.

Securely installed in a stylish enclosure on the center console and powered by 1.21 gigawatts, the Flux Capacitor literally makes time travel possible. Please time travel with care, keeping in mind that different historical epochs will present unique challenges based on the cultural and technological limitations of the era.

Available starting October 21, 2015, the flux capacitor will allow you to have the time of your life…as you travel through time. [Obviously, this upgrade is not actually available. Happy #BTTF2015!]

Good thing they put in that last part, otherwise we might not have known they were joking. Though we suppose it is entirely possible that someone would try to sue Ford for the ability to time-travel. Their small print from the video is pretty clever, too.

Naturally, Ford will charge customers $1 per gigawatt, resulting in a $1.21 million price tag. Where you’re going, you won’t need budgets. Make sure you get in on this while it lasts, and don’t forget to bet on the Cubs.
