Ford of Europe Sales Increase 5.3% in July

Ford has announced that its European sales were up once again last month, thanks in large part to continued demand for the Mondeo, EcoSport, and Transit. In total, Ford sold 100,500 vehicles across the Euro 20*, up 5.3% year-over-year.

Through July, Ford’s sales in Europe total 769,300 vehicles, up 9.7% from the first seven months of 2014.

“New products continue to drive our sales growth in 2015,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe. “As examples, sales of the EcoSport compact SUV continue to grow, up 164% in July over prior year as customer awareness builds, while Mondeo sales are up 70% over the same period.”

Ford’s market share in Europe for the month was 7.6%, a slight decline from July 2014. Over the course of seven months, Ford has increased its market share by 0.1% for a grand total of 8%.

Volume-wise, Ford’s biggest markets in Europe were Britain (30,800 units), Germany (21,700 units), Turkey (10,500 units), Italy (9,900 units), and Spain (8,200 units). To date, Ford’s largest European market is Britain (258,900 units), followed by Germany (149,900 units), Italy (75,700 units), Turkey (67,900 units), and France (64,000 units).

Overall, Ford’s best-selling models were the Fiesta (22,600 units), Focus (19,700 units), Kuga (8,600 units), C-MAX (7,300 units), and Mondeo (7,300 units).
