Is it a bad look to be thinking ahead to summer already? I mean, yeah, Halloween is great—the best, really—and then there’s all the food and family and food and food that comes with Thanksgiving and the holiday season thereafter. That’s fine and all. But, you know, winter. No thanks. Summer? Yes.

Ford is thinking ahead to summer as well, having announced that it will be bringing a specifically-engineered version of the legendary Michelin Pilot Sport 4S high-performance summer tires to the 2018 Ford Mustang GT, which marks the mass-market North American debut for the world-class rubbers.

“We took everything we learned at the track, including feedback from professional drivers, to create a tire custom-tuned for Mustang GT,” said Gary Swingle, Michelin tire engineer.

Sized 255/40-19 in the front and 275/40-19 in the rear, these performance tires are one of the key components that helps the 2018 Mustang GT achieve a 0-60 mph sprint in under four seconds. Available as part of the $3,995 Performance Pack, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires are wrapped around 19-inch Ebony Black-painted aluminum wheels and offered with a Performance Rear Wing, Brembo six-piston front brake calipers, and a TORSEN differential.

According to Ford, these summer tires are engineered specifically for superlative grip in wet or dry conditions, as well as for the best braking distance and lateral handling possible. This is accomplished through an adaptive tread pattern that continuously adjusts to road conditions, hybrid elastomer on the outer rib for better dry braking, and an inner rib composed of elastomers and silica for better wet grip and braking. Other features include an aramid and nylon belt that makes for more responsive steering.

Also, they just look great. Imagine how great they’ll look in the summer sun, a safe distance away from winter and snow and ick.
