Ford sales in China reached a cumulative total of 788,888 vehicles through September 2015, a 1% decrease year-over-year. September sales were down 2% overall with 88,692 vehicles sold, but passenger car sales rose 2% and Changan Ford Automobile sales rose 3%.

Demand for the Ford EcoSport, Kuga, Edge, and Explorer climbed 13% year-over-year for a total of 23,389 vehicles sold. Ford’s SUVs have been a major point of success among Chinese consumers, and through three-quarters, sales have risen 6% overall.

CAF reported 67,722 vehicles sold in September, bringing its year-to-date total to 580,099 vehicles sold. Through nine months, CAF sales are consistent with sales through the same period in 2014.

Jiangling Motors Corporation sales were down 15% in September at a total of 18,796 vehicles sold. To date, JMC sales total 187,290 vehicles, down 2% year-over-year.

Earlier this month, Ford announced a $1.8 billion investment into technological development for the Chinese market, including car- and ride-sharing programs, smartphone integration, and autonomous vehicle technology.
