Of late, Ford is all about expanding the ethos of what exactly it is. No longer content to simply be an automaker, the Blue Oval is aspiring to become equally well-known as a mobility company, and now it appears that it wants to add an additional layer to its identity: fireworks show sponsor. Of course, this may or may not wind up overtaking the automotive and mobility facets of its personality, but that all remains to be seen. It’s a wild world.

Ford will sponsor the Ford Fireworks display along the Detroit River once again on Monday, June 27th. According to ClickOnDetroit, the fireworks show has a listed start time of 9:48 pm, because hey, that’s a time. Produced by The Parade Company, Ford Fireworks enters its 58th iteration in 2016 and will be free to the first 1,000 vehicles with DNR Recreation Passports.

For the third year, Ford will also sponsor the Rooftop Party on the night of the show, which this year features food, drinks, game, and live music from Fifty Amp Fuse. The whole thing takes place on top of the Miller Parking Garage next to the Renaissance Center, with tickets available at http://theparade.org/shop. In case you were wondering whether this was a thing for civilians or for business types, parking passes are $50, admission for children is $100, single tickets are $250, and reservations for 10 are $2,500.

Who knows: maybe with another few years of prominence in the fireworks show-sponsoring industry, Ford will be known the world-over as an automotive, mobility, and fireworks show-sponsoring company! Sometimes, even the biggest corporations have dreams.
