Ford Telematics Powered by Telogis Announced at NTEA Work Truck Show
Today at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indiana, Ford announced its new, improved, and renamed telematics suite.
Ford Telematics™ powered by Telogis®, formerly known as Crew Chief™ powered by Telogis, will not only be overhauled with new features and improved analytics, but its availability will also expand to all of Ford’s markets worldwide.
“Commercial trucks have to be more than delivery boxes on wheels, and innovations like Ford Telematics are critical to helping our fleet customers succeed,” said Raj Nair, Ford chief technical officer and group vice president, Global Product Development. “Ford, in coordination with Telogis, is leading the development of smart solutions for hardworking fleets so they can maximize their operations to better serve their customers.”
Ford Telematics is available factory-direct and as a dealer-installed aftermarket option, and it is covered by a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. It can be purchased today for any 2009 model year or newer Super Duty; F-150; Transit; Transit Connect; E-Series; or Police Interceptor in North America.
Features of Ford Telematics include mobile connectivity to promote DoT compliance and better communication between drivers and field managers; exclusive data and services such as emissions levels and time spent idling; workflow and information gateways; in-cab alerts and driver scorecards to improve driver habits; fuel management reports; easy-to-use dashboards; and customizable reports with improved interface.
“With the launch of Ford Telematics, we renew our commitment to providing Ford customers with a best-in-class, mission-critical platform on which they can manage every aspect of their mobile business,” said Susan Heystee, executive vice president, worldwide sales at Telogis. “The key benefit to customers is improved workforce utilization and fleet productivity that’s easily ordered in Ford trucks with the technology built right in.”
