On the eve of the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show, Ford announced that it intends to introduce as many as 30 new vehicles in its Middle Eastern and African markets by 2020 in an effort to increase global profits. Moreover, plans call for eight new vehicles being introduced in the Middle East and Africa by the end of next year, up to and including the awe-inspiring 2017 Ford GT.

“Middle East & Africa is one of the world’s most exciting and growing vehicle markets and we are moving very quickly to expand our range with exciting cars, utilities and trucks,” said Jim Farley, Ford executive vice president, Europe, Middle East & Africa. “We are passionate about meeting the diverse wants and needs of the customers in this region—and that’s how we are going to profitably grow in 2016 and beyond.”

It’s anticipated that the Middle Eastern and African car market, which encompasses 67 markets that include South Africa and Saudi Arabia, will grow by as much as 40% by 2020. In order to fully capitalize on this growth, Ford will be launching a product onslaught over the course of the next five years.

By the end of 2016, Ford anticipates introducing eight new vehicles to these markets. This includes the 2016 Ford Figo and Ranger, both of which are already launched, as well as the Explorer, Edge, Shelby GT350 Mustang, and the all-new GT.
