Ford Warriors in Pink, Models of Courage Share Two-Day Adventure Outing
Ford Warriors in Pink and Models of Courage recently embarked on a two-day outdoor adventure experience that saw breast cancer survivors from the UAE, Morocco, and Lebanon converging in Ehden to show that their past diagnoses do not limit their abilities to succeed.
The Models of Courage are breast cancer patients, survivors, and co-survivors from the Middle East and North Africa who have, like Ford Warriors in Pink, taken up the cause of raising awareness and encouraging those diagnosed with and fighting breast cancer to stay strong and look ahead to a day where they are cancer-free.

“Nothing on this Earth prepares you for the experience of breast cancer, and I’ve realized I’ve been given a second chance to live my life,” said Ford Middle East and Africa Human Resources Manager and Ford Warriors in Pink ambassador Claire Pedersen. “I have learned to cope with difficult emotions by obtaining professional help and by joining a support group. Feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression and fear of recurrence can slow a person’s recovery.”
Ford Warriors in Pink has been a presence in the Middle East for seven years and expanded into North Africa in 2015. Over that time, more than 125 Models of Courage have joined up with the cause.
This year, as in years past, Ford Middle East is teaming with Zulekha hospital to provide free mammograms and consultation for women and men throughout the month of October. Through this partnership, more than 2,500 free mammograms have been given out in the UAE since 2015.
