Ford came up big in J.D. Power’s 2015 US Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Study, taking home three awards in three separate segments.

The C-MAX topped the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle segment, beating out the Kia Soul. The Ford F-150 was the champion of the Large Light-Duty Pickup class, topping the offerings from Ram and GMC. Finally, the Ford Expedition won the Large SUV category, defeating the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon.

In winning three APEAL awards, Ford ties with Porsche and Chevrolet as the most award-winning brand.

Ford also placed three additional vehicles among the top three in their respective segments: the Ford Fiesta ranked third overall among Small Cars, the Ford Mustang placed second among Midsize Sporty Cars, and the Ford Super Duty tied for second in the Large Heavy-Duty Pickup segment.

In the APEAL Study, automakers and brands are scored on a 1,000-point scale. This year, Ford performed at the same level as the industry average with a score of 798, earning 9 points over its score from the prior year.

J.D. Power’s APEAL Study is in its 20th year, and the results are determined based on owner evaluations of vehicles in 77 different attributes.
