Ford’s China Sales Climb 7% in October

Ford posted one of its best months in China this past October, with sales totaling 95,185 vehicles and rising 7% year-over-year. This allows Ford to maintain a pace consistent with its performance through 10 months in 2014, with cumulative sales totaling 884,073 vehicles.

Changan Ford Automobile sales were up 15% with 74,820 vehicles sold, bringing its to-date total to 654,919 vehicles sold thus far this year. Ford’s utilities—including the EcoSport, Kuga, Edge, and Explorer—were up 15% in October and are up 7% to date. The Kuga alone was up 9% last month, and the Ford Mondeo was up 6%.

Jiangling Motors Corporation sales totaled 19,070 vehicles, down 11% from the year prior. Cumulatively, JMC sales are down 3% with 206,360 vehicles sold.

Ford also announced last month that it will be investing 11.4 billion yuan into developing vehicle connectivity and autonomous driving features geared specifically toward the Chinese consumer.
