Ford posted its best European sales for an October in six years last month, with overall vehicle sales growing 3% year-over-year and commercial vehicle sales climbing 11%. The latter figure was good for Ford’s best October mark for CV sales since October of 1993.

“New products continue to drive our sales, particularly in the all-important higher value retail and fleet market,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe. “Our momentum is visible across our vehicle range, and especially in our commercial vehicle sales where we continue to be Europe’s No.1 best-selling brand year-to-date.”

Ford sold 101,400 vehicles across its 20 traditional European market, moving its running total through 10 months to 1,080,100 vehicles (up 9% from 2014). Ford’s market share remained flat at 7.7% for October, and it has risen 0.1% through October to a total of 8.1%.

Highlights for Ford include a 183% sales uptick for the Mondeo, Focus sales increasing 16%, C-MAX sales rising 21%, Kuga sales increasing 12%, and EcoSport sales increasing 128%.

Ford remained the No. 1 commercial vehicle brand in Europe thanks to the consistency of the Transit range and a 76% increase in customer orders for the Ranger in October.
