Furious 7 will reach theatres on April 3rd, featuring an insane amount of Dodge vehicles

Furious 7 is due out in theatres on April 3rd, less than a month away. Whether you’re a diehard Fast and Furious fan or not, the film is one to watch out for, if only to see Paul Walker’s last artistic endeavor before his untimely passing. (Walker tragically passed away before Furious 7 had finished shooting, much in the same way Philip Seymour Hoffman passed before the third installment in the Hunger Games movie series had wrapped up. Whereas Furious 7 implemented body doubles and CGI to finish filming, Hunger Games director, Francis Lawrence, shied away from this technique, instead divvying up Hoffman’s lines among other actors in the two scenes he had left to shoot for the third and fourth installments of the series.)

Another reason to check out Furious 7, however, is the massive dosage of high-octane entertainment, courtesy of Dodge. Given Dodge’s recent surge in popularity with the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats, motorheads will find the inclusion of several Dodge (and Jeep, a sister brand under the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles umbrella) vehicles a good reason to see the film.

Dodge has long been partnered with The Fast & The Furious, having been highlighted in films since the very beginning of the series in 2001. Only yesterday, however, did the brand announce a partnership with Universal Pictures specifically for Furious 7, to include TV spots and a landing page on Dodge’s website, promoting both the film and the Dodge cars featured in it. In addition, Dodge has partnered with Atlantic Records on several music videos for tracks to be featured on Furious 7: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, due out March 17th, though you can pre-order now.

What to Look Out For: Dodge Cars in Furious 7

When you finally get your butt in a $13 seat at the movie theatre on April 3rd, with a $7 tub of popcorn in your lap, remember: you’re not just there to drool over Vin Diesel. You’re also there to drool over the awesome cars featured in the film, especially the Dodges.

Be on the lookout for a 2015 Dodge Charger in Candy Red, which will be driven by Vin Diesel’s character, Dom Toretto, in a number of chase scenes. Also watch out for a 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T in Sublime Green and Black, manned by Letty Ortiz, Michelle Rodrigues’ badass character. Dodge’s sister brand, Jeep, also drives into the spotlight with Tej Parker’s (Ludacris’) 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. While these are the most prominent models featured in the film, note that FCA supplied almost 30 vehicles in total, possibly driven by other noteworthy stars, such as Dwayne Johnson or Jason Statham, so keep your eyes peeled.

You’ll note that the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats didn’t make their way into the film, likely because they’re so new to the scene. They did, however, manage to find their way into the music videos via the Atlantic Records partnership, which you can read more about (and watch) below.

What to Look Out For: Furious 7 Music Videos

The videos on which Atlantic Records and Dodge collaborated feature current and vintage models, including the all-new Hellcats and the Viper GTS. The album will include songs such as Kid Ink, Rich Homie, Tyga, Wale, and Y.G.’s “Ride Out”; T.I. & Young Thug’s “Off Set”; and Prince Royce’s “My Angel.”

What to Look Out For: TV Spots

The big advantage for Dodge in this partnership is the TV spots. There’s a national spot that started airing yesterday, featuring the 2015 Dodge Challenger, but there is also a group of ads airing in the Middle East focused on the Charger, as well as a global ad for the 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Ads will include clips from the movie and encourage viewers to go to theatres and check out the film.

A shot from the “Flash to the Future” ad

Here’s the ad that started airing yesterday, called “Flash to the Future”:

Speaking of “Flash to the Future,” 2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the Back to the Future franchise—and the year that Marty McFly and Doc Brown visit in Part II. Dodge probably wasn’t intentionally trying to build off that momentum, but hey, that’s a happy accident.

Oh, and we’ll just leave this here…
